Verified Display for your voice service (Answered)
Scammers and other bad actors use tactics such as spoofing, which alters the name or number on the customer's Caller ID, to get them to answer their calls. Neighbor spoofing is when a robocall looks like it comes from a phone number very similar to their own, often using their area code and prefix.
To help Comcast Business Voice, VoiceEdge and VoiceEdge Select customers identify a potentially fraudulent call, we’ve enhanced our Caller ID feature with Verified Display.
Note: As of July 8, 2022, VoiceEdge Select is no longer available. Please refer to Comcast Business VoiceEdge for your Business Voice needs.
Verified Display
The abbreviation for Verified, [V], will now appear next to verified incoming calls on your Caller ID display and My Account call and voicemail logs. You do not need to take any action to enable this feature.
This Verified indicator will only appear when the caller’s voice provider has confirmed that the call is coming from a verified telephone number. We can only verify that a telephone number is legitimate if the caller is using a network with the same advanced capabilities as the Comcast Business Voice network.
As more voice providers adopt to this protocol, Comcast will be able to read more caller information and the percentage of calls with the Verified, [V] indicator, should increase.
This does not mean that all calls with a verification symbol are desired calls. It only means that the call is not spoofed. Your call will still be shown as Verified.
