SMC in True Bridge Mode

after they switched to bridge mode, there was nothing I could do to get an IP address from the modem.  The new router could not recieve an IP address, and even just plugging my laptop directly into the cable modem, I could get no IP address from the modem. 

The tech even tried and could not get an ip, I do not neet a static ip, I just need the gateway put in true bridge mode that would get an ip.

I have a more robust firewall and it need to receive the external IP from the gateway.

Can someone on here help me get it in true bridge mode, not virtual bridge mode?  Or do I have to call Tier 2 support?
