Port Forwarding on Comcast Issued CP2 LTE Backup

We have a Cradlepoint CP2 LTE backup (Model S5A036A / E110-C4D). The configuration is Comcast Gateway -> CP2 -> UDM Router.

This has been working well. When the CP2 detects that Comcast is down, it fails over, and we've noticed minimal interruption. The employees generally only notice Comcast is down if they try to use a lot of bandwidth.

The problem we're having is we need to forward a port to the UDM, and I can't find a management interface for the CP2 in order to do this. If I plug the UDM into the Comcast gateway, I can forward the port from the modem to the UDM and everything works as expected. But since the CP2 is also acting as a router, it's behind another layer of NAT, and I need to be able to forward the port there too.

Is there any way to do this without calling customer support? I read a post somewhere that said I would need to contact Tier 2 support but not sure if that's true.

Thank you!

user_849feb Thank you for reaching out! The information we found Port forwarding directly through the CP2 LTE backup device is not possible because the hardware configuration and settings are locked. You might be able to get a workaround working with a higher support team, however that is not guaranteed.

@Comcast_MartinA Hi, thank you! How can I try to get in touch with a higher support team to see if it's possible? Thank you again!

@Comcast_MartinA Alternatively, even if there was a different LTE backup we could purchase that would allow us to do this, that would be helpful.

We can open a ticket with our tier II team to see if they have a workaround @user_849feb. Please send us a direct message with your full name, business name, full address, and last four digits of your account number or full phone number linked to the business account. Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

How to Send Us a Direct Message:

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
  3. Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Comcast Business".
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Comcast Business" from that list.
  6. An "Comcast Business" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
  8. Press Enter to send it.
