DPC3939B availablity

I currently have a SMCd3g and am on the 100/20 plan with 5 statics so i was wondering if the DPC3939B might be available in the houston area yet? and if not then when?

Hello DarkLogix and welcome,

The Comcast DPC3939B (DPC) modem is available in all regions to the best of my knowledge. If you are generally upgrading to this gateway there is a one time 69.95 installation fee and this can be waivered if you upgrade to 150/20 which the DPC can handle. DPC also handles 1,5, or 13 Static IPs.

My current modem has been in use for over 2 years now I think, so I guess I'll call and see about getting the DPC3939B

The DPC is a really nice Internet Modem that meets pretty much all business needs including wireline, private and public wifi totally secured networking across the board. Comcast will also be offering a Wifi Extender (WE) device for those customers who have a DPC elongated WIFI access greater than 200-250 feet. This device will be able to be interconnected directly to the DPC through one of the ENET Lanports 1-4 or using coax through the DPC MoCA interface. The very nice and strong DPC GUI will be also used to troubleshoot the WE (up to 3) when it is (are) interconnected.

Well I don't plan to use the DPC's wifi at all and only use it to route my 5 static IP's

who in their right mind would use a cable gateway as their primary router? thats just a bad idea.

I have a cisco 3845 with 3x NME-16ES-1G-P moduels and a WAP1242AG access point (that I plan to upgrade to a WAP1262N at some point.

I want the DPC for the fact it can bond more channels (Which should allow me to consistantly recive my provisioned speeds) as soon as its in place I plan to ensure the DPC's wifi and NAT are off and that its only doing what it needs to do.

FYI, i have one of these DPCs at one of my locations; to the best of my knowledge, the private WiFI can be disabled, but this gateway also has the "xfinitywifi", which the config menus do not give you a way to disable. I have heard that you can call in and have it disabled, but don't quote me on that.
