Cisco DPC 3939B on an existing network

I have just moved from Comcast Residential to comcast Business. The business installation is complete and the service is on. I have an existing home - home office ethernet network with Newest Apple Router which I like verymuch and I would like to continue to use it in future.

As a part of business comcast installation I have received a Cisco DPC 3939B which is a modem and and router. How do I eliminate router usage on cisco DPC 3939B and continue to use my apple Airport extreme.

I would really love to receive detailed instructions on this problem because I am not very familiar with network terminology.

Secondly, I am having real trouble getting on   Cisco DPC 3939B configuration page(10.1.10.1)  to change its configuration. I have used Username admin and Password: password without success.

thank you.

Hi ultrasound1.  In addition to the info provided by train_wreck, make sure the WAN interface of your Apple router is set to DHCP or obtain IP address automatically if you do not have a static IP address.  This is the easiest way to utilize both devices, also the access info provided by train_wreck will allow access to the gateway configuration screens.

Here is a link to the manual for the Cisco gateway.   http://www.cisco.com/web/consumer/pdf/OL-29163-01.pdf

 Thank You
