Hi Stewartplumbing.
Customer's that have a gateway with fixed static IP assignments cannot have the device put in. On the Comcastnetwork bridge devices are true "dumb modems" with all router functions completely disabled. Those devices are dynamic by default and will receive one dynamic IP address from the network and pass it thru to the router or the first connected device. Placing your device in Let me know if you want to proceed.
Thank You

I called yesterday and had the bridge mode setup, but I don't think it was done properly - the tech mentioned a passive bridge, and clarified the difference, but it appears he still put the router in passive mode rather than true bridge mode. I am still able to access the configuration page, and the wifi is enabled. We are having issues with port forwarding on our own firewall equipment, and I believe this is the cause.

Yea, I'm interested in the same thing. The Comcast gateway does not allow for the configuration that I need. What do I need to do to have my modem put into "true bridge mode"? I do not have a static IP, so that does not concern me.

Hello rwhardin,
If you do not have a static/fixed IP address for your account, I can set the IP-Gateway as bridge.
Please send me the following information via private message:
1. Your Full Name
2. Your Account Number
3. RF MAC address of the IP-Gateway
4. Time when you want this change to occur.
- Please note after setting change you will need to reset your network router receive the WAN dynamic IP.
Thank you

Hello gawws,
Thank you for the detailed information.
I appreciate it and great conversing with you in regards to this issue.
As we have discussed "bridging" can be done but only on an IP-Gateway and without a static IP service.
Thank you and if you have any other question or can help the community, please post.
We look forward to your presence in the forum!

Our company has 5 static IP address but can't reach out this website "pan.baidu.com", and I can't see the IP v4 address on "what is my IP".
Once I switched the modem to the bridge mode and I can reach out the website "pan.baidu.com" and see the IP v4 address on "what is my IP".
