RFC2317 Delegation Appears Broken

Back in November, I requested RDNS be delegated to me.  To the best I could tell at the time, it was.  However, today I was making some changes on PTRs, but they are not showing up on the resolvers. I am not really sure how to troubleshoot the issues either.  Comcast owns the block and HE.net is hosing my DNS.  Is it better to just have Comcast managed PTRs in this case?

Hello mrjester and welcome,

Please see my comments/responses/inquiries below. Thanks.

Back in November, I requested RDNS be delegated to me.

Please explain what you mean  by RDNS delegated to you. Also could you share your domain name?

To the best I could tell at the time, it was.  However, today I was making some changes on PTRs, but they are not showing up on the resolvers.

Please let us know what you mean by PTRs?  Possibly RFC 1035 record?

I am not really sure how to troubleshoot the issues either.  Comcast owns the block and HE.net is hosing my DNS.  Is it better to just have Comcast managed PTRs in this case?

If you want to use your Domain Email server under the Comcast umbrella then follow this : Use your existing domain name with Comcast Business email and web hosting . Please explain what you mean by "Comcast owns the block" , because if HE.net is hosting your domain then Comcast owns nothing, unless you are using Comcast exchange servers for your domain email, of course.

Lastly, if you currently have your domain under the Comcast exchange umbrella, then you should be able to login to your Business Class Portal administrator account, then go to Mange Services.Email (or Websites) and click on the View DNS Information.  This is where you can find all of your domain specific MX, IMAP, POP, Exchange, etc. domain server addresses.  Let us know if you need further assistance.

VBSSP-RICH, thanks for your response, however, I don't think you are the one to assist me.  This is specifically about "Reverse DNS" delegation using the RFC2317 method for class-less static IP blocks.
