Email issue

We are having an issue receiving email.  Sometimes it will take hours for an email to come through.  Are there any known issues with this.  It is very important that we receive our emails in a timely manner.  Thanks for any help.

Not sure why Noone had replied as its a fairly well written question.

Typically mail systems have the ability to handle issues between MTAs (mail transport agents) or mail servers (ices)

That written a delay that you're writing about is actually a hard to understand diagnostic flag that you need to act on if it becomes an issue.

If a mail server is having trouble resolving it will try over and over via a que run typically every 15 minutes and run this que for 72 hours. The concept of instant e-mail ad the norm is not how the system was written. Delays of hours is still light speed ahead of mail carriers so it's a matter of perspective.

Most mail issues will be resolves if there are many people involved within 6 hours without a SLA. Yours most likely has been resolved by now.

Hello flowerVase6,

Welcome to the forum.

The community would like to the help but can you clarify your question for us?

Could you tell us:

1. Is this a Comcast hosted exchange issue or 3rd party hosted email?

2. Are you having issue with email client or webmail?

Thank you for clarifying
