Domain Transfer Error

I am trying to transfer our existing domin name so that we can start setting up new our email addresses on the hosted Comcast Exchange server.

Logged into the portal, clicked on "websites", clicked on "register/bring domain", clicked "bring existing domain" and typed in my domain name and then typed in a friendly name, then clicked "continue".

"Processing" box displays with a circle arrow and then the error "unable to transfer domain, please try again or contact the administrator".

Process worked first time, but had to disconnect before able to print CNAME settings.  Now, I cannot get back to that point, and support cannot give me the CNAME entry that I need to enter into registrar to continue.

Opened ticket with support - Level 1 could not help.  Elevated to level 2 - black hole and NO response.

I am finding MANY people with the same problem, but nobody has an answer posted.  Anyone?

Hello StanGraber and welcome,

First, "  and typed in my domain name and then typed in a friendly name, then clicked "continue". " - I am not sure what you mean here by "typed in a friendly name" because it is necessary for you to ONLY enter in your currently registered Domain name/address for Comcast to register it correctly. That second box in Step 4 you are referring to is usually auto-populated with your business name, changing this will definitely give you the error you are now getting.

Secondly, please log into your administrator email account and go to ManageServices.Websites, click on View DNS Info and within this list there will be an address autodiscover.w??.yourdomain.com that you can use for your CNAME. If you have zone file admin privs then you can simple add this CNAME, and your MX records as your operation requires.

Hope this helps you out.
