Domain Ownership Verification - Stuck On Step 2

I've been trying to move jonathansharr.com to my Comacst Business account to use with email for weeks. However, even after adding the new CNAME alias with my registrar it still indicates "Not Completed".

Should I just go ahead and point the name servers to Comcast anyway?

Thannks!

Well, from my end I'm not seeing a CNAME record for your domain. Below are nslookup records from my local DNS server (which has Comcast's IPv6 DNS servers configured as forwarders), and a screenshot from the DNS lookup tool at http://network-tools.com . Perhaps the CNAME didn't get completely added with your registrar?

> set type=any
> jonathansharr.com
Server:         fe80::20d:b9ff:fe33:198%internal
Address:        fe80::20d:b9ff:fe33:198%4#53

Non-authoritative answer:
jonathansharr.com       mail exchanger = 20 mx2.zohomail.com.
jonathansharr.com       mail exchanger = 10 mx.zohomail.com.
jonathansharr.com       nameserver = ns17.domaincontrol.com.
jonathansharr.com       nameserver = ns18.domaincontrol.com.
jonathansharr.com
        origin = ns17.domaincontrol.com
        mail addr = dns.jomax.net
        serial = 2015012200
        refresh = 28800
        retry = 7200
        expire = 604800
        minimum = 3600
Name:   jonathansharr.com
Address: 50.63.202.51

Authoritative answers can be found from:
jonathansharr.com       nameserver = ns18.domaincontrol.com.
jonathansharr.com       nameserver = ns17.domaincontrol.com.
ns17.domaincontrol.com  internet address = 216.69.185.9
ns17.domaincontrol.com  has AAAA address 2607:f208:206::9
ns18.domaincontrol.com  internet address = 208.109.255.9
ns18.domaincontrol.com  has AAAA address 2607:f208:302::9

Thanks for the quick response. I made the new record to the CNAME. There's also other CNAME records not shown below (ftp, pop, smtp, etc.). It's odd. I'll have to call the registrar.

Do you know if I could just change the name servers to the respective Comacst ones with out the verification process?

Hi jsharr.  CUntil the verification process completes the services are not active on the Comcast Server. Changing the records before the verification process completes will result in mail failures for all of your inbound mail.

Thank You
