Frustrating experience with customer service

I've been experiencing numerous issues with our business internet since we requested static IPs. Spent almost an hour and a half on the phone, only to be charged $30 for changing my service plan. ("Every time we do a change or Docusign order we there's a $30 fee, said the customer service agent.)

Long story short, I no longer want the service because I can get a gigabit residential plan for less than the business standard.

Can I switch to residential from business without being penalized since I'm not changing providers?

teeman You can make the switch no problem, but you would want to have the residential service set up before cancellation, then reach out to the business cancellation team about moving to residential at that point. To confirm, a static IP isn't that important for your needs correct? I have to make sure, as residential accounts aren't able to get a static IP on them.

teeman You would want to reach out to the business cancellation team at 1-800-391-3000 to get the exact steps to prevent any termination fees. We don't have access to the agreement you signed up for services with, but normally it is allowed without incurring fees if the switch between is done correctly. It is best to make sure to speak with them first just in case.

Are there any folks available online? Every time I call in it goes overseas!

The business team can only be reached by calling the number provided for cancellation details and if there are early termination fees.

What do you mean by any cancellation fee? I'm not canceling Comcast; I'm just switching to residential since I shut down my business account.
