Comcast Business Equipment Fee Assistance

Equipment fee on bill is $14.95 and have contacted Comcast customer support regarding issue and they inform me that I could avoid fee if I buy compatible devices approved by Comcast.

I have internert and phone service and currently lease Comcast supplied gateway and phone modem.  From what I read through comcast business support faqs if I use static IP's I have to use comcast supplied gateway, correct?

For voice services I have looked at compatible phone modems that are approved by Comcast but those only have 2 phone line connections and I have 3 phone line connections.  Any idea of  comcast approved phone modems with more than 2 RJ11 connections that can be purchased?  Or am I stuck using current phone modem?

The equipment rental fee for business services covers both the phone and internet modems. If you have a static Ip then you would need to maintain a leased modem through us. You can use more than one phone modem for the phone services if needed. However, if you maintain your static Ip's you would still continue to have this fee as you would be required to keep the business gateway on the account.

We do have to have access to the modem for business voice services. So there is not an option to purchase your own modem for this service.

I understand part regarding static IP's, which I can remove if I wanted to use my own Internet modem.  My concern is if I can purchase and use my own phone/voice modem instead of continuing to use comcast leased voice modem to completely remove euipment fee from future bills.

Other posts in forum say Comcast will not allow customer to use own voice modem while others say you can, need clarification of this issue so if it is possible to do then I can try to research alternative voice modem to purchase save $15.00 on bill?
