reverse ptr question

question on dns and reverse ptr for email server

 

domain xyz.com

mx email.xyz.com at ip aaa.aaa.aaa.aaa

should the reverse for the mx be email.xyz.com or xyz.com

 

i got a message from a company saying i have a mismatch right now the reverse is xyz.com

Hi johnpsr1.  The rDNS/PTR records should match your mail server name.  The failure message will contain your sending server name as well as the PTR data entry.  If you will send me a private message with the complete failure message or bounce back message and I can make the necessary corrections.
