Comcast DNS Blocking Reputable Sites / Services

This is more of a comment than a question. I have had problems accessing certain websites or services since I switched to Comcast Business. I have tried everything, including disabling my firewall, antivirus, and turning off your security Edge service. I have whitelisted DNS addresses and done all kinds of stuff, everything I can think of, but it still didn't solve the problem. For example, I subscribe to a local news service that uses a URL forwarding service called FeedBlitz. Their URLs look like this:

https://p.feedblitz.com/t3/1135309/206363130/14623523_/~brightgram.com/fort-myers-fl/3822000/portillos-already-in-sunshine-state-when-will-midwest-chain-come-to-sw-fl-we-asked/

Now, if I edit that URL and go directly to brightgram.com, then it works just fine. But that's a pain to have to do every time. Another thing is that I use a file storage service that requires an Amazon S3 endpoint, but your service blocks them. It doesn't work; it won't connect. It used to work fine before I was with Comcast, and now it doesn't.

So, it turns out the problem is with your DNS. Something you have in there is overly zealous with blocking sites. I switched my Chrome browser to the public Google DNS, and everything works fine. So you may want to look into your settings or adjust something because you're blocking stuff that doesn't need to be blocked. Again, just my two cents.

Hi there @Amicron ! Thanks for providing this feedback, we appreciate it, and we will pass it along. Out of curiosity, what do you see come up exactly when you filter with feedblitz?

@Comcast_Frank First I get:

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from p.feedblitz.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). Learn more
NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

This server could not prove that it is p.feedblitz.com; its security certificate is from pxy.prd.live.c2szps.spscld.net. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

Proceed to p.feedblitz.com (unsafe)

And then if I try to go to it anyways:

Access to p.feedblitz.com was denied

You don't have authorization to view this page.
HTTP ERROR 403

And I shouldn't need any authorization to view the page with all of the firewalls and such turned off. So your DNS is blocking it, even though it's a perfectly safe site. Again, works fine with Google's public DNS.

@Amicron  Thank you. And to confirm, the DNS servers are : Primary DNS: 75.75.75.75. Secondary DNS: 75.75.76.76.

Same issue different url that works fine with other ISPs. Even when we specified non-Comcast DNS the issue remained. It's the SecurityEdge. I didn't see a way in the control panel to turn it off entirely so I chatted in and had them pull the plug on SecurityEdge. SE will come back on if they do a factory reset on the modem.

Problem solved.

i am experiencing the same thing.  a site gets blocked and says potential phishing/malware, or comes up as not being found.  but if i change my computer dns servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, the sites come up fine.
