VoiceEdge desktop app is crashing our laptops

Hello, since the 1.44.0 update, a number of our laptops have been having issues where the CPU just about maxes out and the computer freezes all up. The only way I have been able to get the computer back to working is by sending a command to kill the voiceedge.exe process, once it kills off, the computer acts fine again. My observations are that it only seems to be effecting users that have dell lattitude 3500 series laptops. Our other users have Lenovos and none have been effected yet. I did the usual checks, make sure windows was all up to date, any driver updates, bios, etc, etc...... It was effecting both windows 10 and 11. Just put in a tier 2 application ticket but don't expect to hear anything back.

Anyone else have this issue? If so, any luck finding a resolution?

Just an update, it's been a week of voicemail and email tag with tier 2, his last email placed the blame on our network, unfortunately these are users that also work from home so the networks change up and they experience the issue at home, at the office, on a stores public wifi..... waiting for a response back. Was hoping the 1.45 update was addressing it, but nope. :(

Hi @Lexa83

I appreciate you taking the time to update this thread and for also letting us know you have been in contact with our Tier 2 team! I'm sure this constant freezing has to be frustrating, and we want to be sure this can get figured out.

I'd be happy to look into the ticket and see what we can do from here. Please send us a direct message with your full name, business name, full address, and phone number. By clicking the "direct messaging" icon in the upper right page of our forum page. Once you click on that, input our shared handle (Comcast Business) to send us a private message.

• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message" icon in the top right corner
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Comcast Business" there
• - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Comcast Business" from that list
• - An "Comcast Business" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it

I no longer work for Comcast.
