Rights to an internal extension

We have an issue with one of our lines still showing an old employee's name. We had a technician call because Comcast was unable to see the issue. The technician said they were unable to change the extension name because MCI now holds the rights to this extension. We were told we have to contact that company to have the name changed. I don't understand how this happened or exactly what this means.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send your message
