Hello user_87b323, thank you for reaching out via Comcast Business Support here on our Forums. It sounds incredibly frustrating to see a "message waiting" indicator on your phone when there's no actual message there! I can imagine how annoying that little light or icon can be, especially when you've already checked everything. Thanks for reaching out about this.
Let's Try to Clear That "Message Waiting" Indicator
This is a pretty common hiccup, and it often just means your phone system needs a little refresh. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try that usually resolve this:
Restart Your Phone (the actual device): Sometimes, a simple reboot of your mobile phone can clear out these kinds of phantom notifications. Turn it completely off, wait about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
Check All Voicemail Boxes: If you have multiple lines or extensions, or even an old voicemail box you rarely use, it's worth double-checking every single one, just in case a message slipped into an unexpected place.
Dial Your Own Voicemail: Try calling your voicemail service directly (even if you don't hear a message, sometimes just accessing it can clear the indicator).
Send Yourself a Voicemail: If possible, try calling your own number from another phone and leaving yourself a very short voicemail message. Then, access and delete that new message. This often "resets" the system and clears the old, stuck indicator.
If none of these steps work, it might indicate something more specific to your service or an issue that requires a deeper look on our end. Please let me know if you're still seeing that "message waiting" notification after trying these steps!
