modem purchase
I would like to know what model Arris modems are supported by Comcast for business customer phone service. I would like to purchase my own modem rather than rent one from Comcast each month.

Hello GreeneCountyFare welcome to the forum,
If you subscribe to Comcast Business Voice you must use a Comcast Business voice modem. You may use your own modem for Internet (as long as you do not have a static IP). For voice you cannot use your own modem. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I just spoke with someone on technical support and they said that although they don't recommend customers purchase their own MTA, it was allowed. She said she didn't have a list of compatible modems, but most would work. Do you have a list of modems that are preferred? With the increase in the equipment fee to $14.95 a month, users with only one phone line don't have much of a choice but to purchase their own modem or switch providers.

I'm sorry you have been misinformed you cannot use your own phone modem for Comcast Business Voice.
