9600 baud modem on Xfinity voice line

We have some legacy equipment that still requires an old-fashioned 9600 baud modem at our end. We're trying to eliminate the one AT&T POTS line we have for that purpose. I know it is possible to use a fax machine with a residential VOIP line but the Comcast Business support agent I spoke with today said she is not sure if a slow speed modem can work with the business voice line we have. What would it take to connect our old modem to the Xfinity voice line?
